In July 2022, the representatives from Sapienza University of Rome (the project coordinator) and Jagiellonian University of Krakow met in person the three Universities involved in Eco-Campus, a pilot project in the framework of GREENUS. With Ho Chi Minh City University of Technology, Can Tho University, and Hanoi University of Science and Technology, they discussed the status of implementation of the Eco-Campus activities, such as: the installation of recycling bins in strategic points of the campuses, the location of posters showing why is important to separate waste how to do it in the correct way, the delivery of waste management training programs, and the placement of second-hand shops based on the reuse-reduce-recycle sustainability rule. The European partners visited each campus and discussed thoroughly with Vietnamese professors and students how waste is managed locally and what should be improved in order to create cleaner environments for research and academic activities. Eco-Campus is a project located in the university campuses based on a learn-by-doing approach, therefore it is crucial to spread awareness to the entire academic community by sharing the correct waste management and recycling rules.
