Part 1 - Presentation on GREENUS Project, 6 GREENUS courses & pilot ECO-CAMPUS at HUST:

On 23 January 2022, the first GREENUS INFO-DAY was organized at Hanoi University of Science and Technology (HUST) to introduce GREENUS project & disseminate 6 GREENUS courses on waste management to staff and students of School of Environmental Sciences and Technology. The Info-Day was included in the annual report meeting of the School of Environmental Sciences and Technology so that it attracted the attendance of a large number of staff, students (both undergraduate and graduate), alumni and also HUST’s stakeholders working in the field of Environmental Management and Engineering.

On behalf of INEST and the GREENUS Steering Committee, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Thi Anh Tuyet, Dean of School of INEST and GREENUS Coordinator of HUST made a presentation on GREENUS project to give students an overview of the project partners, objectives, main activities, especially the expected outputs at HUST and Vietnamese project partners.  She also presented about 6 courses on WM elaborated by GREENUS Project with detaied description of 6 syllabi of GREENUS courses as well as the course delivery plan at HUST.

Dr. Nguyen Thuy Chung on behalf of GREENUS Sustainability Committee of HUST ECO-CAMPUS made a presentation on the idea of setting up a pilot ECO-CAMPUS as model for replicability in the north of Vietnam to meeting participants. She called for the active participation of students in joining in ECO-CAMPUS Action Team to carry out ECO-CAMPUS activities in order to raise the awareness of HUST community in segrating solid wastes at source in HUST campus in particular and in local community in general.

Part 2 - Open Discussion (Q& A):

A lot of questions were raised by students mainly focusing on details of course delivery, concrete topics included in each module, especially the instruction language. Some students were interested in the requirements and selection criteria for the selection of the best students for intensive course in EU. Some graduate students and young lecturers were interested in PhD mobility offered in the framework of GREENUS. All questions were carefully addressed by GREENUS team at HUST.

Also in the framework of the Info-Day, HUST GREENUS team conducted a survey on the interest of students in GREENUS Courses and building ECO-CAMPUS at HUST.
